Max is a natural builder and permaculture teacher. Alicia is the soul of the place, taking care of people (2nd ethic of permaculture)
Mi lugar
El Mandala is an experimentation and formation center about Permaculture, natural building and all kind of solutions and systems about autonomy. This is a place where people can find answers and solutions about how to live a more sostenible life. Max is a certified Permaculture teacher (3-4 PDC every year) We live in the beautiful hills of Asturias. The project is on a 2 hectares land old farm. It's calm and beautiful.
Proyectos
In a climate change context, we really believe that everybody should try a more sostenible and autonom life. We learnt a lot doing volunteering and we know this is the best way to learn and practice. We know it works. We really want that the volunteers develop confidence and skills that they could use therefore on their own project. That's why we also have theorical time during the working day, so everyone understands what we're doing, why, and how to use it later. We're renovating this old farm to create a center about Permaculture, natural building and autonomy. Right now the work is in 2 main directions : natural building/habitat and food production (vegetables garden) We're receiving up to 12 volunteers and it's a minimum stay of 2 weeks (most of volunteers coming here tkink 2 week is even too short)
Alojamiento
You'll sleep in a dorm or you can bring your tent if you prefer more intimity.
Comida
Vegetarian, organic/local quality food is provided during the week days (working days). Alicia is a great cook and love to prepare delicious meal. During weekend you'll be autonom for your own shopping and cooking.
