Acerca de nosotros
Hi! My name is Lori Moore. I founded Lori Wall Beds and I also appeared with my family on HGTV'S show "You Live in What?" We moved to Alabama from the Chicagoland area almost ten years ago. We started our cob bathhouse project 7 years ago. It should not have taken this long, but we have also been attempting to set up a permaculture homestead whole working jobs and homeschooling. We would like to make natural building, and natural beekeeping "our thing."
Mi lugar
Hamilton, Alabama is a fairly relaxed, large small town. Everyone knows everyone by one degree of separation, I'm sure. There is a hospital, a Walmart, and a cute micro downtown area with a couple of nice cafes, a gourmet ice cream shop, boutiques, smoothie and nutritional tea bars. We are located near Natural Bridge, Dismals Canyon, and the Buttahatchee River which is great for canoeing.
Proyectos
We began our small bathhouse 7 years ago. It is less than 200 square feet. The finished walls Will vary between 9 and 11 feet tall. We have added two children to our household since we began this project. We are using a cob mixture sourced from our property. We want to finish building these walls up to height so we can finally put a roof on!
Alojamiento
Depending on the season, helpers are welcome to set up tents or park an RV or camper. There are also relatively affordable hotels in town. We live in a tiny cabin, currently, or we would offer to house you under our own roof.
Comida
My husband has been a consultant/cook/chef/manager for several restaurants. He likes to provide good food for guests. We will be happy to accommodate the dietary needs and desires of our guests, whether that's fish tacos, vegetarian chili, grass-fed beef burgers, and let's not forget eggs and goat cheese from our very own.
