    Acerca de nosotros

Hi! We moved to rural pastures to live deliberately. To observe nature and learn from it. To rediscover our suppressed instincts, create something sacred and most true to life with our own hands. We want to enjoy each process and relish slow living in the mountains. We are interested in creating a space to explore and nurture our human potential, be our authentic selves, have discourse on food (roti), clothing(kapda), shelter(makaan), experiment with new materials, express through art, and practice sustainability(imperfect). We envision it as an interdisciplinary nexus of art, design, visual media, science, and nature. Our mission is to build tiny using natural materials and investigate alternate biomaterials with our living friends - Fungi, Bacteria, and Algae. Our focus lies more in the experiments than the results, bringing out newer perspectives. It is an open studio for the round pegs in the square holes. We strive to surround ourselves with dreamers, DIYers, storytellers, graphic designers, visual artists, photographers, filmmakers, natural builders, biologists, mycologists, bio designers, fashion designers, product designers, musicians, and alternate economists.

    Mi lugar

Our tiny farm is nestled in the farmlands on a hill near Rishikesh, at the confluence of river Ganges and its tributary river Heval. The village is situated adjacent to a serene forest with its wildlife. Villagers often sight elephants and leopards. Many streams flow through the forest. Rishikesh is famously known as the Yoga Capital of the world. It is also a perfect spot for white water rafting on the RIver Ganges during the season.

    Proyectos

We are building a tiny cob house (mud house) with a living roof on a tiny site overlooking the Ganges using natural materials available in the surrounding. We are also experimenting with biomaterials and making products using mycelium(the vegetative part of mushroom), eggshells, Kombucha, orange peel powder, etc. Since we are building the mud house from scratch after a year of research, attending both physical and online workshops, it is a great opportunity to learn natural building, passive solar design, experiment with different plastering techniques, dry stone walls, living roof, etc. We could also share our knowledge about biofabrication using agriculture and food waste along with organisms such as mycelium and bacteria. We also experiment with combining various art forms such as physical/digital art with augmented reality. We would love to collaborate with you to create experimental artworks if you are an artist. We live with Dadi(Granny) who has lived her life in this village. The village is a tiny village with only 6 houses and we see the villagers as our extended family and have a lot of indigenous knowledge to share. We would more than love to learn whatever you have to teach.

    Alojamiento

We live in a basic village 2 bedroom house with a living area with attached kitchen in the village. The building site is 100 m away from our house We have comfortable dorm-style sleeping with mattresses. Accomodation is provided free of cost. The toilet is Indian style with a separate bath and is 10 m from the house.

    Comida

We live in a rural remote village and the nearest markets are 10 km away. Economics is part of sustainability and hence, there is a 5 dollar contribution per night to cover the cost of food and utilities. The contribution goes towards buying food from the local farmers to support them and bringing in other groceries such as rice, grains/oils, not available in the village, from the Rishikesh town. Meals provided would include Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Tea, Dinner. The food is usually what the villagers eat but we are open to experiment and try different cuisines. We would be cooking together and eating together with Dadi(Granny) most of the time.
