What You Get as a Volunteer

Every build is an opportunity to grow — as a builder, a learner, and a human being.

Real Skills

Learn natural building, permaculture, cob construction, food forests, and more — directly on site, with experienced hosts.

Meaningful Travel

Experience life in new places while contributing to something real. Travel with purpose, not just tourism.

A Global Network

Connect with passionate project owners, fellow volunteers, and a community committed to sustainable living.

Positive Impact

Every day you spend on a build is a day invested in a more sustainable world. Your contribution matters.

How It Works

Finding your first build is simple.

1

Create Your Profile

Sign up, add your skills, languages, and a short bio so hosts can get to know you before you even apply.

2

Browse builds

Filter builds by theme (construction, permaculture, water, energy, self-sufficiency), country, dates and skills taught. Courses are paid builds and are marked as such.

3

Send a Request

Write a short motivation message and send your participation request. The host will review your profile and get back to you.

4

Show Up & Learn

Arrive at the build, work alongside your host, gain real experience, and leave a review to help the community.

Ask the host before applying

Not sure a build is right for you? On the project page, ask the host a first question. Your profile stays hidden until you apply.

What to Expect

Ecobilda is based on an exchange model — you give your time and energy, and hosts give you knowledge and basic comforts.

  • Hands-on learning in eco-construction or permaculture
  • Accommodation (room, tent, or shared space)
  • Meals or kitchen access
  • A community of like-minded people
  • A verified review to build your profile
Work Hours

Typically 4 to 6 hours per day, 5 days a week. Exact hours are listed on each build.

What Is Provided

Most hosts offer accommodation and meals. Details are clearly stated on each project page — no surprises.
